I just found out that a guy I know racked up 120k in credit card debt (yes, you read that right). He sold his house which doubled in value over the last several years and used the profit to pay off the debt. Now he's renting it from the people who've bought it and he's started racking up the debt again. Just blew my mind when I heard about it. Scary. CC debt is a huge problem. Which in most cases just isn't true. Yes it takes a while, sometimes years to clear your debt, but the task is not so unattainable as one might think.
